Please arrive early if you need to do your hair, makeup, etc. It is important that you are ready to be photographed at the time of your appointment. This ensures you will have the photographer???s full attention for the entire session.
Please avoid tight stripes and/or plaid patterns. Solid clothing photographs much better and keeps the attention on you. For traditional head and shoulder shots, it is recommended to wear long sleeves.
For faster clothing changes between background changes, group your outfits together. Always bring your clothing in on hangers so they look their best. Duffle bags tend to wrinkle clothing.
If you???ve chosen an Outdoor session option, be forewarned that there is only a limited area to change outfits. This limited changing area is very apparent if you have chosen our On Tour session. It is best to wear a layered outfit for these sessions. This allows you to add or take away a piece for a different look. If you would still like more than one complete outfit for the Outdoor or On Tour session, you may change in the van or your vehicle.
Avoid getting a fresh haircut or dramatic hairstyle right before your session. Your senior portraits should look natural and like you.
Hairstyle changes during your session are allowable, as long as the transformation is quick. Remember, less time changing is more time with the photographer.
The photographer is very sensitive to the overall look of the images he captures. Lighting, main props, backgrounds and equipment are the photographer???s responsibility. Your hairstyle and makeup are yours.
Feel free to bring props that help define you! Show off your personality and bring your guitar or other musical instrument, sports uniforms and balls/equipment, vehicles, etc.!
It is our experience that most glasses do provide glare during a photography session. To avoid costly retouching that may occur from glasses glare, check with your optometrist before your session. Many will gladly loan you an empty set of frames similar to yours for your photo session.
We retouch blemishes, so you don???t worry about minor breakouts.
Pets are welcome, as long as they are house broken. Photography sessions can get a bit long for most pets. To avoid unforeseen circumstances, we recommend having someone bring the pet in only during the short time that they will be photographed. Please call ahead so the photographer is aware you would like to incorporate your pet into your session and he can plan accordingly.
Also, we have great locations we can use should you choose to bring your horse!
FRIENDS & PARENTS
Friends and parents are welcome and can be a great help at times! However, if they become a distraction for you, it may be best they wait outside of the camera room. We allow a special pose with a boyfriend, girlfriend, best friend or sibling at no extra charge.
WEATHER FOR OUTDOOR PORTRAITS
In the event that Mother Nature should choose to bless us with showers, we recommend rescheduling. Do not worry about a cloudy day???this is actually very good weather in which to photograph! Clouds actually give very nice lighting.
